Microdermabrasion : also known as skin polishing. Here tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin to gently remove the outer layer of the skin. Skin is temporarily pink but fully recovers within 24 hours. Each session takes around 15 minutes and weekly sessions can be done for 2-3 months. It is basically an exfoliation and skin rejuvenation procedure that leaves skin looking softer and brighter. This helps in treatment of superficial scars, uneven skin tone or pigment irregularities, dull looking skin, age spots and fine lines.

Oxy peel: it is a type of treatment which infuses highly concentrated oxygen free of any toxins or preservatives into skin. A lack of oxygen reflects in a reduced cell activity, premature cell ageing and blood circulation disorders, possibly leading to a premature loss of skin firmness and a pale complexion. The infused oxygen boosts the immune system with an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect. It also dislodges the damaged skin cells and regulates oil production in the face. This helps to increase production and strength of facial collagen as well. This facilitates to detoxify and heal the skin which appears refreshed, fully hydrated and feels tighter and firmer with every cell completely nourished.

A combination of microdermabrasion followed by oxy peel helps to control acne, stimulates collagen production and gives a healthier looking young radiant skin.

While an improvement will be visible after the first treatment itself, it is recommended that a series of treatments be done to ensure optimal results.

Chemical peeling: it is the application of a chemical agent to the skin so as to cause controlled destruction of a part of the skin followed by subsequent resurfacing, remodeling and repair. Thus it causes the skin to exfoliate or peel off and a new skin which is smooth, shiny and healthy regrows.

They can be superficial depth, medium depth or deep peels. Commonly used peels are glycolic acid, salicylic acid and trichloroacetic acid.

Depending on the problem the skin is assessed and primed with some creams 2-3 weeks before a chemical peel. The procedure may last for 10-15 minutes depending on the peel. Patients experience mild tingling sensation during the procedure. In some cases skin can peel or blisters can appear for few days post procedure. A sunscreen has to be used and sun exposure has to be avoided following the peel. Rare side effects include pigmentation and allergic reactions to the peel.

Chemical peels can be used to treat facial pigmentation, acne, black heads and white heads, acne scars , wrinkles and fine lines , peri orbital pigmentation and for skin rejuvenation for dull or aged skin.

Botox: it is the use of purified botulinum toxin for treatment. It is a wonder drug of the last decade combating cutaneous signs of aging and hyperhidrosis through cosmetic denervation. It acts by causing chemodenervation and inhibits transmission of nerve impulses and relaxes the muscle.

Common indications include frown lines, crow’s feet, neckfolds, forehead lines and excessive sweating.

It is a relatively painless, non surgical procedure which involves injection of botox using a fine needle into the desired muscle. The process takes around ten minutes and the antiwrinkling effect sets in 4-5 days later. The antiwrinkling effects last for around 3-4 months and is not permanent.Rare side effects include bruising, drooping of eyelids and transient headaches.

Tattoo removal: A tattoo is a form of body modification, made by inserting ink, either permanent or temporary, into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment. Getting a tattoo takes very less time but removal is much more tedious and needs a long duration treatment. Hence one has to think twice before getting a permanent tattoo done. Tattoos which were initially thought to be permanent can now be removed by various methods like LASERS, dermabrasion, chemical peels, cryotherapy or excision surgery.

Tattoo removal is most commonly performed using lasers that break down the ink particles in the tattoo. The broken-down ink is then fought off by the immune system, mimicking the natural fading that time or sun exposure would create. Commonly used LASERS include Q-switched Nd:YAG, Q-switched Alexandrite, Q-switched Ruby LASER.

The procedure can be made painless by applying anesthetic cream prior to procedure. Rare side effects include infection, scarring and pigmentation. Complete laser tattoo removal requires numerous treatment sessions, typically spaced at least 6 weeks apart. At each session, some but not all of the tattoo pigment particles are effectively fragmented, and the body removes the smallest fragments over the course of several weeks. The number of sessions and spacing between treatments depends on various parameters, including the area of the body treated and skin color.

Microneedling radiofrequency: Post-acne scarring is a very distressing problem. Atrophic acne scars are dermal depressions commonly caused by destruction of collagen after inflammatory acne. Microneedling fractional radiofrequency (MFR) is the latest advancement which is clinically efficient in managing acne scars without causing direct damage to the epidermis. MFR device works by creating radiofrequency thermal zones and leaving a healthy skin. The combination of microneedling and RF energy stimulates the body's natural collagen, elastin synthesis and healing processes thus improving the scars and also providing a healthier rejuvenated firm skin.

It can be made relatively painless by applying local anesthetic cream before the procedure. Slight redness and swelling can be there on the same day which subsides.

The main advantage over the fractional CO2 lasers is the minimal downtime .The patient can get back to work the next day itself .The other advantages of micro needling compared with other treatment methods like laser is that the uppermost skin is not removed i.e minimally invasive and thus no undesirable effect will occur.

After a few treatments there will be a noticeable difference, it will help with scars, wrinkles, skin tightening, rejuvenation, reduce pore size.

PRP: Platelet rich plasma is a concentrated form of your own platelets, obtained from your blood. As a concentrated source of platelets, PRP contains several different growth factors that can stimulate healing of skin and hair growth.

For preparation of PRP main principle essentially involves concentrating platelets in a concentration of 3–5 times the physiological value and then injecting this concentrated plasma in the tissue where effect is desired. This is a safe and effective procedure done at monthly intervals for optimal results. Duration of each procedure lasts around 30-45 minutes and the patient can resume daily routine the same day itself.

Main indications in dermatology for PRP are hair loss and face rejuvenation in men and women. PRP has proven to be a vital tool in the management of hair loss. It reduces hair thinning and stimulates natural hair growth. It is also used to improve skin tone and texture and has a rejuvenating effect providing a beautiful glow to dull worn out skin.

DERMAROLLER : Dermaroller is an advanced micro-needling procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin. Dermarollers have a round, rotating cylinder with at least 200 tiny needles protruding from it, and a handle for moving. It basically causes break down of thick collagen that causes some types of scars. They also stimulate collagen production by wounding the skin, thereby improving the appearance of wrinkles, and enhancing delivery of skincare ingredients. It is usually done at monthly intervals following the application of anesthetic cream on the face thus making it relatively painless. It can be used to treat acne scars, wrinkles, skin rejuvenation and hair loss as well.

Skin tightening : as age advances loose or sagging skin may become a problem. However a newer treatment has emerged which can change this perception. This is the microneedling with radiofrequency technique. This makes tiny holes spaced a part with delivery of energy into the deeper skin stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis and remodelling.

The collagen and elastin will not only heal the damaged area but also the areas around it, eventually smoothing out minor scars, flattening out fine lines and wrinkles as well as promoting elasticity in the skin thus leading to skin tightening. This gives the skin a younger newer look, better skin tone withholding the signs of aging. The effects begin to set in immediately and the full effect can be seen over the next few weeks. It is painless with few or no side effects.

Skin rejuvenation : The skin can become dull looking due to various genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors. This can be managed by skin rejuvenation which can be done in various ways. Non ablative lasers, chemical peels, skin polishing and light therapy can be done to restore a younger looking glowing skin.
